Guests, Greatness, and Guilty Pleasures

Today we sit down to discuss the exceptions that prove the rule of our amazing tastes. Ed loves both the Speed Racer and Josie & The Pussycats movies, and he wanted to find out what movies (et. al) the other guys like, despite the public opinion that they're shitty.

Episode 5: Guests, Greatness, and Guilty Pleasures

After two straight weeks of religious talk (with a third episode still to come), we decided to dial it back a bit and go with a less intense subject. After the small talk and pleasantries, we sit down to discuss something of the utmost importance: are movies bad just because someone else decided they were? Is Ed really that bizarre because he loves Speed Racer? Has Chris lost his mind because he doesn't see why Bram Stoker's Dracula currently has a 79% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes? Can James be forgiven for enjoying the Ang Lee's Hulk?

Featuring James, our first guest contributor while we wait for Charlie to turn back up, the discussion meanders through a few different areas (as is the norm). So much so that we ended up on an hour-plus long digression about an old favorite topic. Also, we had a recording issue which ruined what would've otherwise been a super-sized episode. So, we cut the episode up a bit, but we're still going to post the rest of the conversation here, just not in your iTunes or RSS feeds. That's right, you get bonus content, just for visiting this blog.

That episode will be up this week, alongside the next newest episode, so look out for it. And, as always, feel free to comment below, on our Facebook page, or just email us.

Oh, and there's still a bit of Batman.

P.S:
These are probably three of the most recognizable songs to show up in this podcast. Well, two of them, at least. We start with Flash, by Queen (natch). As explained, I just always hear that song when The Flash comes up, which, in my case, is a lot. Second, we had Pretend to Be Nice, from the soundtrack to Josie & The Pussycats, technically by the titular band. Josie's actual singing voice is Kay Hanley (though, I hear the actresses in the movie provided backups) of Letters to Cleo. And we ended with You Know I'm No Good and its remix, by Amy Winehouse (Back to Black) and Ghostface Killah (More Fish), respectively.

As always, thanks. For listening.
